Calligraphy Artist Megumi Kitano

I have been practicing Japanese calligraphy since I was six years old, learning under the guidance of my father, a master calligrapher. What started as a childhood discipline gradually became a lifelong passion.

Today, I hold the title of Shihan, and my work is deeply rooted in tradition while being shared in a way that feels accessible to everyone.

Through my calligraphy, I aim to express a sense of calm, balance, and simplicity inspired by Zen. At the same time, I want more people to experience and enjoy this art form, regardless of background. That’s why I strive to create pieces at different price levels, so there is something meaningful for everyone.

Based in Sweden, I continue to practice and share Japanese calligraphy as both an art and a way of slowing down in a busy world.
